We are delighted to share with you all our wonderful update on the works that we have carried out to our Community Parochial Hall over this past few months. The results have been remarkable.
Unfortunately over the past few years our hall had got in bad repair and was crying out for some TLC, with its closure due to Covid 19 regulations it became damp and a lot off plaster came away from the walls, we also found ourselves with a collapsed ceiling in the bathroom. The funding which we received from ‘Allchurches Trust’ and ‘Monaghan Local Enhancement programme 2021’ was greatly appreciated and was put to great use in assisting us to get the much needed renovations on the way.
Many thanks to Paul Mehaffy and his team we had the walls that needed work doing to them dry lined and re plastered and the bathroom ceiling repaired and may I add just before all that torrential rain we had after Christmas.
It was amazing how quickly the hall was taking shape. Bredin Electrical was very busy replacing all our ceiling lights with energy efficient LED ones. Our next project was to have the whole interior of our hall painted which I must say looks dashing – Shane did wonders! Beautiful papyrus on the top with dreamy truffle underneath which really compliments each other, a great choice indeed by all the parishioners. Many thanks to Kevin in Quinn’s for being so helpful. Our list just really keeps growing – thanks to Neal O’Sullivan we decided to revamp our kitchen presses and have gone with a grey look with lovely stainless steel handles, all modernised. We have decided to replace all the curtains with stylish grey fire retardant blinds from MC Blinds. We are very grateful to all involved for installing ‘Wifi4eu’, its great to have WiFi in our hall. Last but not least our floor was treated to a well deserved face lift, thanks to Rutledge wood floors.
Many thanks to all who has worked hard this past few months from organising bank loans, seeing who we’ll get to carry out the work, running from A to B, over seeing everything and mostly for being there when we needed something doing at the drop of the hat, many hands really do make light work.
Please just don’t take my word for it, if you’re looking to use our facilities come and check it out for yourself. Please attend our opening night TUESDAY 22nd FEBRUARY 2022 between 7:30pm and 8:45pm, you won’t be disappointed!
