CLLR. COYLE RAISES ISSUE OF DERELICTION

Local Council Seamus Coyle has asked Monaghan County Council for an update on vacant properties and dereliction in Ballybay. The following answer was received from MCC.
The TRO section identifies 87.no properties as Vacant or Derelict in Ballybay town. MCC have issued a Section 8(2) notice on 32.no of these properties (This notice gives the owner 1 month to respond with proposals to make the property non derelict). If the response was insufficient/no response, the council has proceeded to issue 12.no Section 8(7) notices (This notice states the property has been entered onto the Derelict Site Register). MCC have executed 1.no CPO on 85 Main Street, Ballybay, this property is now sale agreed to a private developer and sale should be complete early 2026. MCC started the CPO process on another property but have postponed CPO action due to the owner eventually making contact and applying for the Croí Conaithe Grant.
