Local Councillor Seamus Coyle has raised safety issues on the Ballybay Shercock road with Monaghan County Council. Cllr. Coyle is concerned about a very dangerous section on the R162 at Mullinault and had asked the council to consider the installation of a crash barrier. Engineers have given an undertaking to assess this location, prepare estimated costings and include on the Low Cost Safety Improvement scheme list for future funding applications.
