DOUBLE ALL IRELAND FOR BROGAN

Congratulations to Brogan Mc Aviney who won two All Ireland titles at the weekend at the 2024 Irish Winter Swim Championships. Over 500 swimmers from 80 clubs battled it out over three days of racing at the Sport Ireland National Aquatic Centre. On day one Brogan who swims for the National Centre Limerick and Sean Donnellan (Glenalbyn) both went under the two-minute barrier in a thrilling race in the Open 200m Butterfly, with Brogan (1:59.36) touching out Donnellan (1:59.84) for gold. But there was no resting on his laurels as the Kilkenny native with a massive Ballybay connection was back in action on the final day and topped the podium in the Open 100m Butterfly, clocking a time of 53.13. Brogan’s father Emmet is a very proud Ballybay man.
