BOWLS

The trip by the Ballybay Outdoor Bowling club to Dungannon last week was very rewarding as we came away with 4 points which keeps us in the lead of the Border Counties league. The game in Dungannon also qualified us to play in the next round of the Mc Guirk Shield, that game to be arranged for a later date. This week will see us make the longest of the season when we travel to Letterkenny to play on their grass green, so hope we do as well as last year when we got 6 points.
The draw for the outdoor cup was made and was published in the Northern Standard last week so it’s good to see four matches arranged for this week, check the nights that are free by phoning Benny on 087 4152392.
Don’t forget Saturday 16th July when the champion of champions singles will be played starting at 11am and will be played to a finish on the day.
The bowling for beginners is still on going on each Thursday evening until the end of July so there is still time to come along if you are interested in the game of bowls.
