On Saturday 16th July the local outdoor bowling club will hold the first qualifying game for the champion of champions singles competition. Games will start at 11am and the draw will be held on Friday 15th so now is the time to get your name on the time sheet in the club pavilion. The pairs competition will take place on Saturday 6th August with the Rinks (fours) taking place on the 20th August (all games to start at 11am). The draw for the Outdoor cup was made some weeks ago and most of the first round matches all completed but now is the time to get the games arranged when the days are long and bright.
Our cross border team is doing very well – it’s nip and tuck between Ballybay and Enniskillen with the latter in the lead by two shots. We have an away game in Omagh this week while Enniskillen have a home game versus Letterkenny. Tomorrow evening Friday we have the return cup game with Dungannon on our green so we have high hopes of reaching the final this year. It was in 2013 when we last won the double getting the league and cup.
Bowling for beginners is still ongoing every Thursday evening at 7-30pm and all are welcome.
