The Ballybay Outdoor Bowling club has now reached the final of the Mc Gurk Memorial Shield when they had a comprehensive win over Dungannon on last Wednesday evening. They now go forward to play Drumragh of Omagh in the final on Friday 19th or Wednesday 24th August on our green in Ballybay which should prove an advantage to the local club who are riding high in the Border Counties League at the moment. We are just 2 points behind Enniskillen who are in the lead with 54 points. Our next game in the league is on Wednesday 20th July when we have a home game with Clogher Valley “Sparks”. Our local league is progressing slowly but a lot of games are arranged for this week and there are some very good cup games taking place – so we hope the weather stays good.
Thursday is still the evening for Bowling for Beginners and Improvers so just come along at 7-30pm and you will be made very welcome. Saturday sees the singles game in the champion of champions which takes place on the green starting at 11 o’clock. The draw will be made at 7 o’clock on Friday so if you want to know your time it will be posted in the club pavilion. There have been some enquiries regarding the Town Tournament so we hope to get it going next week.
