Ballybay Monaghan Ireland

Anthony Loughman from Castleblayney recently shared some youtube links on the Ballybay and its People facebook page. The links show footage from the county finals of 1956 and 1959. This amazing footage was captured by Canon Terence J Kirke, A native of Broomfield. In both finals Ballybay played Clontibret. In 1956 they lost 3-8 to 3-6 however in 1959 the game ended in a draw 2-4 to 1-7. In the replay which was held in Ballybay the Pearse Brothers had a resounding 3-7 to 0-5 victory.
