FOOD BANK SUCCESS
Local woman Michelle Smyth recently put a call out asking for donations of food so that it could be distributed to needy families during the coronavirus pandemic. Once again the people of Ballybay and surrounding areas showed their community spirit and generosity and numerous items were donated. Michelle has now distributed these to some needy families and to some elderly residents of the district. Michelle is now in contact with Teach-na-Daoine in Monaghan town about the development of a food bank which will cover both the Ballybay and Monaghan area. Anyone who would like to donate or receive food parcels during this terrible time can contact Michelle on 0863314007. Another alternative for families in need at this time is the local St. Vincent de Paul.
