BOWLS

There are only three games left for the Border County bowling team and it’s good to see that they are level in first place with Enniskillen. This week we are away to Strule of Omagh on their grass green which has proved difficult for us over the years.
The local league is getting close to the final with most teams having just one game left. It will soon be playoff time between Section A and Section B. Doing very well recently is Ballybay Whites who top Section B and are also in the outdoor cup were they will play either Clontibret Saffrons or Latton. In a recent cup game the White’s had a comprehensive win over Ballybay Marooon’s.
Next for decision will be the pairs which is Saturday 6th August at 11am so now is the time to get your names on the list in the pavilion. The draw will take place on Thursday 4th August at 7pm so that all competitors will be notified of their start times.
With most competitions drawing to a close we may try and get the Town Tournament started this week. That will involve teams consisting of one experienced player and 3 bowlers that are interested in the game of bowls. This format has worked well in previous years.
