POLAR BEARS STOLEN

Just before Christmas someone stole the four polar bears from the lights display at the junction of the Carrick Road and Cootehill Road. The drybox was forced open and the bears unplugged – this act alone left other plugs exposed to the rain and before long the Santa model quit working. If anyone has any idea who carried out this desperate act could they please contact the local GARDA. Thankfully there is a happy ending as a very kind local lady who wants to remain anonymous gave up her own polar bears and Smugglers Warehouse in Monaghan provided a part required to get Santa going again.
