Three students from Ballybay Community College picked up a Special Award at last week’s BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition last week. Katie Duffy, Chloe Sullivan and Charlotte Smith were the toast of the school when their project picked up a ‘Tackle Your Feelings Award’ in the Health and wellbeing Category. The award is presented to the project that highlights the need for positive mental health interventions in their local community and proposes or exemplifies unique ways of sharing positive mental health information with members of this community. The girls project was entitled, ‘Sticks and stones may break my bones, but my mind can also hurt me – The effects of injury on the mental well being of athletes’. Congratulations girls.
