Locals were left stunned in Ballybay on Thursday morning (6th April) when a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes appeared in the centre of the altar. The same statue was at the back of St. Patrick’s during the Wednesday morning mass. The statue which is large and heavy somehow made it ways up the aisle to the altar between Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night. It took four men to return the statue to its original position. Fr. La Flynn speaking on Northern Sound radio said that in his opinion the statue was not moved by “miraculous intervention”. If anyone has any idea how the statue managed to travel from the back of the church to the altar – the Ballybay News Correspondent would love to hear from you.
