BOWLS

Clontibret had a good win over Cootehill in the local league which outs them in top spot with 18 points. In section 2 of the league Ballybay White are having a good run and are in the lead at present but all that could change tomorrow evening (Friday) as Scotshouse take on Muckno and Shercock play Corcaghan. The draw for the outdoor cup will be made during the week and will be published in the Northern Standard next week. The cup games will be 4 persons playing 2 bowls. On Thursday 16th June (tonight) the ‘Bowling for Beginners’ starts and it is hoped to have a good turnout for this. Play will commence at 7pm.
On each Wednesday at 11am we will have the special needs group for 2 hours. Last week we had 35 attend and all enjoyed their game of bowls.
A large number of Ballybay Bowlers had a trip to the new Cavan outdoor green on Saturday last. It is also on all weather surface but a bit slower than the Ballybay Green. All enjoyed the experience and we have been invited back during the summer for a competitive game.
