The last three weeks of glorious weather has seen a marked increase in attendance at the outdoor green in the town park. The good weather has also ensured all competitions are up to date. The Town Tournament is gaining new members each week. Tonight Liam Smyth’s pub team will compete against the Post Office. Last week saw a Darren Smyth selection get a two point win over Gerry Mc Elroy’s team and Soda Barrell the holders defeated Paul Carragher’s.

On Saturday 30th June we had the singles competition to find a member to represent the club at the Champion of Champions on the first Saturday in September to be held in Dungannon. The winner on the day was Brendan Mc Gahey who is a long serving member of the club. In conclusion he was presented with the beautiful trophy by Gabriel Traynor who sponsored this competition.

The Border Counties team have 2 games this week, one in the Mc Gurk Shield away and one at home when we take on Letterkenny. Both teams will be stiff opposition but we will put out our best teams and hope that there will be a bit of luck on our side.

The champion of champions Pairs will take place on Saturday 21st July, so now is the time to put your name on the time sheet in the club pavilion.
