MARATHON RECORD UPDATE

Last week we reported that Conor Duffy had become the fastest marathon runner in Monaghan when he finished 24th in the Berlin Marathon. In doing so he broke the record which had stood for 30 years. Some research during the week revealed that the previous record was actually held by Donal O Mahony who lived on Main Street (O Mahony’s Pharmacy). At the time Donal was running with the Phoenix club in Monaghan town and actually set his record when running in Ohio, USA.
