MEETING TO SAVE THE SWIFTS

Ballybay Tidy Towns will hold a meeting on Tuesday March 5th at 7.30 pm in Ballybay Second Presbyterian Hall, Hall St. The purpose of the meeting is to inform and discuss the “Saving Swifts” project. Swifts in Ireland are in decline, but luckily Ballybay has a good population of Swifts. We want to help protect these birds and we are delighted that students from Ballybay Community College have agreed to make up nesting boxes which we hope to erect in the town. Peter Philips from Birdwatch Ireland who conducted a study in Ballybay last year will attend the meeting and tell us all about swifts and his findings. So please come along to the meeting and support this project in Ballybay.
