New street furniture has arrived in Ballybay and already it’s a big hit with the locals. A number of picnic tables, many suitable for wheelchair users have popped up in the town in the last week. These can be seen in the Square, the Town Park, outside the Soda Barrell, outside Liam Smyth’s and outside Centra. With restaurants and coffee shops closed due to Covid many locals have been using them to consume their lunch and for coffee breaks with friends. The tables are thanks to the Ballybay Regeneration Committee who sourced grant funding for the furniture which in turn was installed by Monaghan County Council.
