We were on the streets for Daffodil Day on the 24th & 25th March and raised over €8000. The weather provided a mix of conditions that wasn’t ideal for the traditional and much loved “table collections, particularly as Friday drew to a close, however, we seen it off and kept our spirits high. We had in excess of 50 volunteers over the both days from the community of BALLYBAY, surrounding areas and parishes this year – an amazing response. We’d like to thank Centra, Mace and the Credit Union for allowing the tables to be moved indoors through the latter part of Friday due to the torrential rain that was experienced, this allowed for the collections to continue as normal.
Donation and honesty stations were on view in all our local shops across the town as well as our towns “Just Giving Online Page”.
This year we raised €8316, a fantastic achievement for everyone involved, both our volunteers and those who donated in any capacity, your generosity continues to excel and thank you all for that.
As we all know and appreciate, the Irish Cancer Society continues to do fantastic work and are a vital support to all cancer patients and their families and on behalf of the Irish Cancer Society, they have thanked the local communities of Ballybay for everything they do over the year and for their loyal support on Daffodil Day.
Also Important to acknowledge Padraig and Marco’s wee lighting display at the low end of the town, it brought colour and focus to a very important weekend in the Irish Cancer Society’s fundraising calendar and for this we thank them.
