Parade Success

The organisers of the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade were delighted with the success of this year’s event. The dry weather and large crowd helped make the first parade in three year’s one to remember. The organisers would like to thank a number of people without whom the parade would not have been possible. Firstly Monaghan County Council for their financial support and the local Garda for their logistical support. Thanks to Gerry West and Joe Maguire who did a great job organising the floats and to Rory Mc Atavie for acting as MC on the day. A massive thank you is also due to Gary Mc Guirk for the loan of a trailer for the viewing stand. Finally thanks to everyone who took part, without you the parade would not be possible. The winners of the prizes were as follows: Overall float – Mullaghmore Equestrian Centre. Runner up – Back to my Roots. Best Community Float – Ballybay Pearse Brothers juveniles.
