RECENT DEATHS WITH LOCAL CONNECTIONS

Two men have died recently who both had strong ties with Ballybay. Stanley Steen passed away in England. He was born in the town and went to school in Hall Street. He was employed in Corries Shop before he headed across the water to make a long life for himself. Joe Mc Cabe formally from Market Street Brae passed away on 7th June in the Mater Hospital Dublin. Joe was one of six brothers who were all engineers. He lived in Howth and was a passionate sailor. Throughout his remarkable career he served as Chairman of IDA, Irish Distillers, Aviva, Norwich Union and Irish Ropes. May they both rest in peace.
