Local club Drumhowan had a good night last Saturday at the Monaghan Awards nights with Pauline Grogan and Stephen Mc Ginnity picking up awards. Pauline received her award for the recognition of her work in Scor. During Pauline’s term, the Club won 52 County Titles, 7 Ulster Titles, 2 All Ireland Titles for their Musical Group and 3rd place in All Ireland Final for their Quiz Team in 2012 . Former player Stephen Mc Ginnity was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Stephen made his debut for Drumhowan in September 1986, four months before his 16th birthday, in a Junior C final versus Toome in Castleblayney with Drumhowan winning 3-6 to 1-5, Stephen bagging 0-3 points and having a hand in all three goals. That was the start of an almost 25-year journey for Drumhowan’s best all-time player, which ended in 2010 a few months short of his 40th birthday. During his career he won 8 titles with Drumhowan and played for the county minors, U21’s and seniors.
